Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced the formation of an SIT to investigate the case where a 21-year-old woman was subjected to a violent assault, including being stripped and beaten by her husband and in-laws. So far, 11 individuals have been apprehended in connection with the crime.

Gehlot stated, “In this case, an SIT has been established, and 11 people have been detained. I have spoken to the victim’s family and assured them that justice will be served. I have offered her a government job, and we will also create a fixed deposit of Rs. 10 lakhs.”

Initial findings suggest that the victim, who had been married for a year, had started cohabiting with another man in the village.

The Director General of Police (DGP), Umesh Mishra, revealed that the woman’s in-laws had abducted her and transported her to their village after learning about her relationship, where the incident occurred on Thursday.

The victim’s father recounted the harrowing experience, saying, “The incident occurred the day before yesterday. They (the accused) tore her clothes… Later, they dropped her home around 11 pm. There were four to five people, and I do not know their names. (The accused) is her husband…”

Meanwhile, BJP National President JP Nadda expressed shock at the video from Pratapgarh, Rajasthan, and criticized the state’s governance. He claimed that the Chief Minister and Ministers were preoccupied with resolving internal disputes and appeasing a particular dynasty in Delhi. Nadda also lamented the tarnished reputation of Rajasthan, which was once known as a peace-loving state but is now associated with incidents of rape, atrocities, and misconduct.
