PM Modi Virtually Engages with Beneficiaries of ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with the beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on Thursday, inquiring about their experiences and the advantages they gained from various central government schemes.
During the event, PM Modi launched a program aimed at augmenting the number of Jan Aushadi Kendras from 10,000 to 25,000 across the country. He specifically instructed volunteers managing Jan Aushadi kendras in villages to ensure that individuals derive the full benefits of the schemes.
Affordability and accessibility in healthcare have been fundamental to the Prime Minister’s vision for a healthy India, with the establishment of Jan Aushadhi Kendra representing a significant initiative in this direction, making medicines available at economical prices.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Mahila Kisan Drone Kendra during the event. Addressing a beneficiary, PM Modi remarked that despite initial skepticism about the Drone scheme, it has proven to empower women, aligning with various other women-centric welfare programs.
As part of this initiative, drones will be provided to Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) to leverage this technology for livelihood assistance, accompanied by training for women on flying and utilizing drones, fostering technology use in agriculture.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, launched on November 15 from Khunti, Jharkhand, includes on-spot services such as Health Camps organized at the places of halt of the IEC Van in the Gram Panchayats.
As of November 26, 2023, 5,470 Health camps have been conducted in 995 Gram Panchayats, reporting a total footfall of more than 7,82,000 people, according to a government release.
The screening of patients for TB is being carried out for symptoms, sputum testing, and utilizing NAAT machines wherever available. Consent is also being obtained for patients suffering from TB to receive assistance from Nikshay Mitras under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMA).
Both initiatives, providing drones to women SHGs and increasing the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras from 10,000 to 25,000, were announced by the Prime Minister during his Independence Day speech this year.
