Travelers on the Mumbai local trains are facing increased difficulties for the next few days due to a mega block. As a result of this mega block, more than 200 local train services will be canceled daily. The mega block, which extends from October 27th to November 5th, has been implemented to lay the sixth line between Bandra and Goregaon stations. Today marks the first day of this mega block.

Mumbai: Commuters traveling on Mumbai’s Western Line are facing increased challenges. From October 27th to November 5th, a mega block will be in place on this route, leading to the cancellation of approximately 290 local train services daily. This mega block is being carried out to lay the sixth line between Bandra and Goregaon stations. Today marked the first day of the mega block. The Western Line in Mumbai is considered the busiest route. Approximately 1.5 to 2 million people commute on local trains daily on this route.

More than 2,500 local train services canceled

As per the information, between October 27th and November 5th, over 2,500 local train services on this route will be canceled. 43 mail and express trains will be entirely canceled, while 188 others will be partially canceled or short-terminated.

Travelers troubled by local train cancellations

The cancellation of local train services has caused inconvenience to travelers. At the Goregaon station, people struggled to board and disembark from local trains due to the heavy crowds. However, the Western Railway has been continuously providing information about the cancellation of local trains through its website, social media, and announcements over the past few days.

Travelers waiting for 30 to 40 minutes

Some travelers had to wait for 30-40 minutes at various stations on this route as they were unable to board crowded trains. Some passengers mentioned that they had received information about the mega block from the railway 3-4 days before it was implemented, so they had planned their travel accordingly, but they were still facing difficulties.
