Gaming: Fortnite developer to establish office in Wales
A US video game company known for its work on popular titles like Call of Duty and Fortnite is set to establish its European headquarters in Wales. Rocket Science Corporation plans to employ over 50 people in their new Cardiff-based studio, focusing on developing tools for some of the gaming industry’s biggest names. This move comes as the global video game market is projected to exceed £200 billion by 2025. The Welsh government has supported this venture to foster the growth of the gaming sector within Wales. Rocket Science’s co-founder, Thomas Daniel, expressed the goal of creating a foundation for aspiring game developers to build their careers in Wales. The company has received £825,000 in government funding for this initiative, aiming to provide employment for at least the next five years. This effort aligns with Wales’ ambition to expand its video game development sector, which has experienced growth in recent years.
