Leaders from the world’s major economies, comprising the G20, are converging in New Delhi under India’s leadership to address urgent global challenges amid a fractured geopolitical backdrop caused by the Ukraine conflict. India has gone to great lengths, employing drones, artistic murals, and life-sized langur cutouts to bolster security and logistics for the event. World leaders are scheduled to arrive in the city tomorrow. Here’s a glimpse of their arrival times and welcoming dignitaries:

  1. US President Joe Biden is expected to touch down at approximately 6:55 pm and will be greeted by Minister of State VK Singh, according to an ANI report.
  2. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will be received by MOS Ashwini Choubey at 1:40 pm.
  3. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be welcomed by MOS Darshan Jardosh at 12:30 pm.
  4. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is set to arrive at 2:15 pm and will be received by MoS Choubey.
  5. Italy’s Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, will be greeted by MOS Shobha Karadlaje at 6:20 am, as per sources close to ANI.
  6. China’s Premier Li Qiang will be received by MOS Gen (retd.) VK Singh at 7:45 pm, while UAE President HH Shaikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be welcomed by Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai upon his arrival in the national capital at 8 pm.
  7. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is scheduled to arrive at 6:15 pm and will be received by Union Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
  8. The heads of state of Germany and France are due to arrive on September 9. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is expected to arrive at 8 am and will be greeted by MOS Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma.
  9. French President Emmanuel Macron will arrive at 12:35 pm and will be received by MOS Anupriya Patel.

The participating countries in the G20 Summit include Nigeria, Argentina, Italy, the African Union (represented by Comros), and South Africa. Additionally, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, Egypt, Australia, the United States, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, Spain, Germany, France, Mauritius, the European Union, and Singapore are also part of this global gathering.
