Covid-19 Cases in India: As the year 2023 is drawing to a close, the pace of the coronavirus shows no signs of slowing down in the country. In the past 24 hours, India has reported 743 new cases of Covid-19.
743 New Cases Reported According to official figures from the Central Health Ministry, there have been 743 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the last 24 hours. The total number of active cases in the country has increased to 3,997.
Seven Deaths in 24 Hours As per the official statistics from the Central Health Ministry, seven people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours. Among these, three deaths were reported in Kerala, two in Karnataka, and one each in Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.
Cases Decrease from the Previous Day One day ago, the country had reported 797 new cases. However, there has been a slight decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases in the country today. Nevertheless, the death toll has increased compared to the previous day. On Friday, five people succumbed to the virus, while today, seven people have lost their lives.
Cases of JN.1 Variant Until December 28, a total of 145 cases of the JN.1 variant of Covid-19 have been reported in the country. The first case of the JN.1 variant was detected in Kerala. In response, advisories have been issued across the country.
Total Cases and Deaths The Central Health Ministry has reported a total of 4,50,12,484 Covid-19 cases in the country since the year 2020. The number of deaths due to Covid-19 in India has reached 5,33,358.
