Box Office Triumph: HanuMan Collects Over Rs 150 Crore in 8 Days, Poses Tough Competition to ‘Guntur Kaaram’

The Telugu film “HanuMan,” directed by Prasanth Varma and featuring Teja Sajja, is creating a significant impact at the box office. After a decent start with an opening day collection of Rs 4.15 crores, the film has witnessed a steady rise in collections over the subsequent days. As it completes eight days in theaters, the total box office earnings stand at over Rs 98.8 crores in India, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. On the eighth day alone, the film garnered Rs 9 crore.

Globally, “HanuMan” is on track to enter the coveted Rs 200 crore club, as noted by trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan. Director Prasanth Varma had previously mentioned that the film had already crossed Rs 150 crore worldwide.

Facing competition from the Mahesh Babu starrer “Guntur Kaaram,” “HanuMan” has managed to hold its ground and provide tough competition. The Mahesh Babu film has accumulated Rs 110.9 crore at the domestic box office.

Featuring a cast including Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty, and Vinay Rai, among others, “HanuMan” has received praise from various quarters. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a prominent celebrity, took to social media to laud the film, expressing, “The best kind of movies are those that make us feel like a kid again… This is the wizardry that Hanuman has unleashed on the big screen. The latest poster of Prabhas from the upcoming film “Kalki 2898 AD” was unveiled today on the official Instagram account of the film’s production team. In the poster, Prabhas is depicted gazing downward while sporting futuristic spectacles. Notably, tattoos on his biceps carry symbolic significance. The caption accompanying the poster introduces Prabhas’ character as “Bhairava” and mentions the futuristic setting of the film’s storyline.

“Kalki 2898 AD” features Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in leading roles, with Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani also starring prominently.

Recently, a glimpse from the film’s sets was shared, showcasing Prabhas and Disha Patani shooting a song sequence in Italy against a scenic beach backdrop. Described as “Windy Vibes,” the post captures the on-location atmosphere.

Prior to this update, another image was released featuring Prabhas and Disha Patani seated together in an aircraft during the filming in Italy. The shared moment was captioned as “A Darling Pic…Italy Diaries ft. Prabhas and Disha Patani.”

In January, Amitabh Bachchan disclosed the worldwide release date of “Kalki 2898 AD” through a poster reveal featuring Prabhas. The film is set to hit theaters on May 9, marking the beginning of an intriguing futuristic narrative.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, known for his award-winning work in “Mahanati,” “Kalki 2898 AD” signifies the first collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. Additionally, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan had previously shared screen space in the film “Piku” released in 2015.

CID’s Off-Air Moment: Lata Mangeshkar’s Intervention and Daily Viewing Habit Recalled by Cast

The late legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar, was an avid fan of TV shows, and surprisingly, one of her favorites was CID, which aired on Sony TV for nearly two decades (1998-2018). Despite her global fan base, many are unaware of her deep connection to the show. Lata Mangeshkar would frequently extend invitations to the cast, engaging in discussions about the series during their visits to her home.

In a revealing episode of ‘Kahaniyo ki Kahaniya’ with Laksh Maheshwari, Dayanand Shetty, renowned for his portrayal of Daya on CID, shared intriguing details about Lata Mangeshkar’s dedicated viewership. He disclosed that she not only watched CID on weekends but made it a daily ritual. Dayanand described Lata ji’s unwavering commitment, mentioning how she would sit in her room, capturing close-up shots of ACP and other actors on her phone, and personally sending them four to five photographs every day.

Dayanand further unveiled Lata Mangeshkar’s dismay when CID concluded its run. He narrated, “Even when the show was off the air, she and her family questioned why it ended. She called the head office in the United States, where Sony is based, expressing her disappointment. She told them, ‘It is our favorite show, it is doing well, and a lot of people watch it.'”

Adding to the anecdotes, Aditya Shrivastav, who portrayed Inspector Abhijeet, highlighted Lata Mangeshkar’s childlike enthusiasm whenever the crew visited her home. She would eagerly ask questions, provide feedback, and analyze the actors’ physical changes. Aditya reminisced, “She would turn into a kid with us. She would even give feedback. She would watch the show and analyze who has become fat or who has become thin, if someone is unwell.”

Lata Mangeshkar, a beloved icon, passed away in February 2022.
