“Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ Set for OTT Release Date, Clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan'”

Nelson Dilipkumar has both directed and penned the script for the movie ‘Jailer,’ which features Rajinikanth in the lead role. Alongside him, the film boasts a stellar cast including Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, Tamannaah, and others.

‘Jailer,’ a crime drama that has performed exceptionally well at both domestic and international box offices, is now gearing up for its OTT release. In a recent statement, Prime Video announced that Nelson Dilipkumar’s film will be available for streaming on their platform starting from September 7. Interestingly, this release date coincides with the theatrical release of ‘Jawan,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, ‘Jailer’ also credits Nelson as the writer. The movie boasts an ensemble cast featuring Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and the young talent Master Ritvik. Additionally, the film includes special appearances by renowned actors such as Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff.

‘Jailer’ will be available for viewing on Prime Video in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The story revolves around Tiger Muthuvel Pandiyan, a retired jailer portrayed by Rajinikanth, who embarks on a quest to find his son’s murderers. As he delves into the depths of his son’s world, his determination is tested, leading him down a complex and familiar path.

‘Jailer’ has achieved remarkable success at the domestic box office in India. According to Sacnilk.com, the film earned ₹235.85 crore during its initial week in theaters, followed by ₹62.95 crore in the second week, and ₹29.43 crore in the third week. On its 23rd day in theaters, the film is estimated to have raked in ₹1.60 crore. Since its theatrical release last month, ‘Jailer’ has accumulated a total of ₹329.83 crore in India.
