During an election rally in Gadwal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that if the BJP secures victory in the upcoming assembly elections, residents of Telangana will be granted free access to the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Shah accused the Congress of impeding and delaying the construction of the Ram temple for the past 70 years. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Bhumi Puja’ for the temple and mentioned that the ‘pran pratishtha’ would take place on January 22, 2024. Shah urged the people to vote for the BJP in Telangana, promising that a BJP-led government would facilitate free darshan of Lord Ram in Ayodhya for all citizens. Taking aim at the current Telangana government, led by K Chandrasekhar Rao, Shah criticized its implementation of religion-based reservation for Muslims, deeming it “unconstitutional.” He stated that the BJP, if in power, plans to eliminate religious reservation and increase quotas for OBCs and STs. Shah labeled both the Congress and BRS as ‘anti-backward class’ parties, asserting that only the BJP, under PM Modi’s leadership, can benefit backward classes. He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to appointing a Chief Minister from the backward class.
